JULIE HAMILTON

As Director of Finance, Julie Hamilton is responsible for the custodial relationships for the Alaska Permanent Fund Corporation, accounting, financial reporting and the supervision of the Finance Department employees.  She also oversees human resources and website management functions for the corporation.

Ms. Hamilton joined the APFC in March 2002 as the Controller.  After nearly five years as the Controller, she was promoted to the Director of Finance in December 2006.  Prior to joining the Alaska Permanent Fund Corporation, she served for five years as the Financial Director for Juneau Youth Services, Inc., a local nonprofit organization which provides comprehensive behavioral health services to children and their families.  As Financial Director, she was responsible for the oversight and preparation of financial statements, budgets, grant writing and reporting, daily accounting functions, and the annual financial statement audit.

Ms. Hamilton was also previously a partner in the accounting firm Wolfe & Hamilton, CPAs, located in Juneau, Alaska.
The firm offered public accounting services, including auditing, tax preparation and consulting, to a wide variety of more than 250 clients.

Other public accounting firms that Ms. Hamilton has worked for during her career include Elgee Rehfeld Mertz, LLC in Juneau, Alaska, as well as Deloitte & Touche in Seattle, Washington.

Ms. Hamilton holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Arizona State University. In addition, she is a licensed certified public accountant in the State of Alaska.

Ms. Hamilton was born and raised in Juneau, Alaska. She is a member of the Association of Government Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
