Marshal Kendziorek

Marshal Kendziorek joined the Alaska Permanent Fund Corporation (APFC) as Director of Information Technology in March of 2001.  In 2006 he also assumed oversight of the corporate administrative functions such as budget and office management.

Mr. Kendziorek is responsible for all corporate administrative and technology issues ranging from connectivity to various banks and fund managers to keeping a complex mix of servers, routers and switches up and running. Key to this responsibility is ensuring that APFC computer systems stay on-line and up to modern standards. In the world of investment management, operational down time can prove to be extremely expensive. For this reason the network infrastructure must be as redundant and fault-tolerant as possible.

Marshal Kendziorek arrived in Juneau in 1981 after graduating from the University of Washington in Seattle with a Bachelors degree in Marine Community Ecology. He spent time as a graduate student at the University of Alaska . In 1984, Marshal began working for the State of Alaska as an Analyst Programmer for the Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC). Over the course of the next four years Marshal became the Data Processing Manager, responsible for all data and network systems at ADEC.

With the wreck of the Exxon Valdez in March of 1989, he served as team leader for Science and Data Management working on the State of Alaska response to the oil spill. In 1991 Mr. Kendziorek opened Transpacific Computing: a consulting firm specializing in technology-based solutions for state, federal and municipal governments as well as for private firms. In 1998, he sold the company to Resource Data, Inc. and opened an office for them in Juneau .

Marshal Kendziorek is an active member of the Juneau community and served nine years on the City and Borough of Juneau Planning Commission. Marshal serves on the Board of the Juneau Jazz and Classics Festival and is an active supporter of the arts in Juneau .
