APFC's target allocation to publicly-traded stocks is 53% of the Fund's total market value. APFC issues stock portfolios to a group of external managers who invest according to individual mandates.
APFC's target allocation to bonds is currently at 29% of Fund Market value. APFC staff actively manages about 80% of the Fund's domestic bond portfolio. Non-US bonds and remainder of the domestic bond portfolio is in the hands of external managers .
Real Estate
APFC's target allocation to real estate is 10% of the Fund's total market value. Diversification is achieved through investing in four property types: industrial, multi-family (residential), office and retail. Properties are also diversified geographically throughout the East, West, Mid-West and Southern regions of the United States. Twenty-five percent of the real estate portfolio's securities are held in Real Estate Investment Trust Securities (REITS) and other miscellaneous real estate investment categories. Alaska investments include a 100% ownership interest in the three-story Goldbelt Building in Juneau and 13% interest in the Plaza Port West Shopping Center in Ketchikan.
APFC's target allocation to alternative assets is currently at 8% of Fund Market value: 4% absolute return strategies (hedge funds) and 4% in private equity.
