The Permanent Fund has lost a friend

AUGUST 2 - APFC CEO Michael J. Burns made the following statement when he learned of the loss of Governor Jay Hammond: “The Alaska of today, and certainly the Alaska of tomorrow, would be vastly different if Governor Hammond had not had the wisdom to tirelessly advocate for the creation of the Permanent Fund. He also signed into law the bill creating the Alaska Permanent Fund Corporation, to ensure the Fund was managed independently of political pressures. The Permanent Fund has lost a friend.”
